byebye ps2

while my mom and were in a burial ceremony in loyola memorial in guadalupe, i received a message from kuya that his PS2 was stolen (of course there was an oh-so-lutong-mura that i could almost hear when i read his message).

when we got home, manang told us the whole story...

12pm:
she was sitting ouside, watching the tricycles pass by, when a couple with their baby girl arrived. they looked for my mom and kuya and implied that they'd like kuya to be their baby's ninong. since they seemed to know mom and kuya well, manang opened the gate and let them in. they sat down and the mother opened her big bag and took out a small towel to wipe the baby's pawis... implying this time that they're thirsty. so manang got 2 glasses of water. and as expected when she went back, the "family" was gone! she tried to run after them but a neighbor told her that the couple rode a tricycle already. and when she went back inside the house to investigate what they took, PS2 was gone along with the controllers and cables and all... =( byebye PS2. they might have known the PS2 dvds were pirated 'cause they didn't bother to take those... either that or the shoebox of dvds didn't fit their bag haha!

the question is... is manang an accomplice? kuya raised the following reasons that prove manang is an accomplice:

kuya says:why did manang open the gate? she's been a maid for so long, she should know better that she should never let anybody in...
caths says:if i were manang, i would've done the same thing: let them in... it was scorching hot outside... poor baby girl. it was a new tactic, yeah, but maybe she just felt awa for the baby. also, they dressed rather well daw, neat and mukang happy family nga ang dating.

kuya says:why did the robbers bother to take everything, including the controllers and cables? if he were the robber, he would not take the accessories along anymore.
caths says:if i were the evil robber, i'd do the same and take the accessories... they're neatly stacked anyway and it'll take only a few secs to keep them all in the big bag. besides, it's more saleable that way.

caths says:that's the point! we don't know her that well, so we don't have the right to judge her (yet). although we really couldn't tell what runs in her mind.

my verdict, manang is not guilty... poor manang... she (and kuya too, kanya PS e hehe!) just became a victim of deception and ill intention. hope they use that PS2 well... =( poor baby girl...
