lighting a little candle for the earth... if earth is our mother, she would be a battered, abused, torn, old woman. she has cared for all the races throughout the ages and we just go on pretending that she can sustain us forever.
lighting a little candle for all the victims in japan: dead or alive. those who survived need a great deal of strength to start over again. those who died are probably still lost souls. i wouldn't know for certain though.
